Webinar: Air Regs for Reciprocating Internal Combustion Engines

Wednesday, January 18, 2012 8:00am - 10:00am

EPA has new National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants (NESHAP) and New Source Performance Standards (NSPS) for stationary reciprocating internal combustion engines (RICE) that affect both emergency and non-emergency uses. RICE are used for generating electricity and to power pumps and compressors in many industrial, agricultural, and municipal operations. Under this rule, facilities with stationary emergency engines will need to track their use to avoid exceeding a 50 hour per year limit on non-emergency use. Some non-emergency stationary engines will be subject to emission limits (which may require retrofit) and requirements to submit initial notifications that were due in August 2010 for diesel engines and February 2011 for gasoline engines. These requirements may apply to your facility! See www.epa.gov/region1/rice for more information.

EPA Region 1 is making a workshop on the RICE rule available as a webinar to interested participants.  Online attendees will be able to see and hear the presentations and type in questions. The program will feature the RICE rule writer Melanie King and will cover compliance requirements, deadlines, and tools for compliance. Take advantage of this opportunity to learn about the new rules!  Register to participate for the January 18, 2012 (8-10am CST)  webinar at https://www2.gotomeeting.com/register/356498938.

NOTE: The webinar will also be held on January 11, 2012 (8-10am CST). To register for that webinar, visit https://www2.gotomeeting.com/register/721742402.
