Food Waste Webinar: Stories and Tools to Help your College
Wednesday, February 22 • 10:30 a.m. - Noon
Food waste is an issue in America – in fact, more than a third of the food we produce goes into the trash while 1 in 8 Americans are food insecure. Colleges and universities are in a key position to help tackle this problem through campus action and student education.
Join Jacob Larson from K-State’s Pollution Prevention Institute and guests from two Kansas colleges as they explore food waste in higher education.
By the end of this free webinar, you will:
- Gain a deeper understanding on the significance of food waste.
- Hear what two institutions are doing to address this problem.
- Learn about the tools you can use to prevent and divert food waste from landfills.
- Have an opportunity to ask questions in a concluding Q&A session.
In addition to Jacob Larson, environmental specialist with PPI, speakers include:
Kristi Baonga Kansas State University Housing and Dining Services |
Krystal Anton Johnson County Community College Center for Sustainability |
