Resourceful Kansas, funded by the Department of Energy (DOE), has as its overall goal, “to engage communities throughout the state of Kansas in making a fundamental shift toward a less energy intensive, more efficiency economy. Participants take a tour of the Riley County facilities and observe first-hand the operations of renewable energy sources—wind turbines, solar-powered LED lighting, solar hot water heating system for radiant floor heat, and geothermal (ground source) heat pumps. In addition to the tour, seminars provide information on lighting, wind/solar power, HVAC, financing, and building envelope. Seminars are free and lunch is provided.
