The Pollution Prevention Institute, or PPI, offers environmental technical assistance to Kansas businesses primarily through the Small Business Environmental Assistance Program (SBEAP) and the Pollution Prevention (P2) programs. PPI is 100% grant-funded and periodically has additional funding to provide technical assistance for targeted industries, like healthcare and aerospace, or for communities.
SBEAP offers free confidential environmental compliance assistance to small businesses in Kansas. Hotline, email and on-site visits are available for concerns related to air quality and permitting, hazardous waste, stormwater, storage tanks and other select topics. Small businesses are typically defined as facilities with 100 or fewer employees. SBEAP services are primarily funded by the Kansas Department of Health and Environment. To ask a question or request assistance, call 800-578-8898 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
We offer pollution prevention technical assistance, including site visits, for all Kansas businesses. In-depth pollution prevention services are completed through our P2 intern program which places a trained intern at host industries for a 10-week period during the summer. To ask a question or request assistance, contact us at 800-578-8898 or email@example.com. "Very Informative, patient and helpful. Explains things in terms I could understand and provided tools to use that were extremely useful.”
“I would have closed my business if it hadn't been for the help I received. I was so confused and flustered over the report I needed to be compliant I could have never gotten through this without the specialist’s help. She was amazing!”
“SBEAP has been invaluable to our company in helping us become compliant with all of our required regulations.”
“The people who assist you seem to be very caring about your company needs and are willing to do what it takes to help you out in any way possible. This is a great program for small companies and for people who are new to KDHE regulations and needing to know how to stay compliant.”
